As a jewelry designer, I carefully select quality gemstones, pearls and metals to complete each design. After forming within the earth over millions of years, these beautiful gemstones from naturally occurring minerals are found and shaped by skilled human hands.
For thousands of years, we have used our planet’s natural resources. The earth’s materials have been used to create beautiful and valued human adornments throughout history. I am grateful and feel privileged to be part of that tradition.
- Most gemstones are classified as semi-precious, with the exception of a few precious gems: diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires. Gemstones are available in a stunning array of colors. You will likely be familiar with many of stones listed here, such as garnet, turquoise, amethyst or jade. Less familiar gemstones include multi-hued stones like labradorite, jasper, and agates mined in varying parts of the world.
- Gemstones and pearls are unique. Individual beads may not exactly match one another exactly. Some gemstones are not perfectly clear or have small imperfections. This does not mean that they are flawed, rather these are naturally occurring inclusions in the stones.
- Inclusions develop with the formation of a gemstone and are part of their unique and organic beauty.
